지난 번 동영상 강의 다음 부분부터 조금씩 나갑니다. 먼저 오늘 부분을 전체적으로 봅니다.

Our good father in Washington(워싱턴에 계신 인자하신 우리의 father께서-여기에서 father라고 표현한 것은 다분히 인디언식 표현이자 중세 왕 제도를 가지고 있던 유럽식 표현, 그리고 빈정거림이 모두 어우러진 느낌입니다.)--for I presume he is now our father as well as yours,(내가 추측하건대 그는 이미 우리의 지배자가 되었습니다만-역시 계속적인 빈정댐이 느껴집니다.) since King George has moved his boundaries further north (George왕께서 그의 영토를 북쪽으로 넓힌 이후로- George왕은 매우 많이 영국역사에 나옵니다. 1세,2세,3세 등등으로 그리고 이 당시의 영국왕도 역시 George였습니다. 그러나 여기에서 영국 왕을 가리키면 무엇인가 말이 이상해 집니다. 그런데 미국 초대 대통령이 George Washington임을 기억해야 합니다. 아마 이 분을 지칭하는 것일 겁니다. 이 사람은 Iroquois족이 살던 지금의 미국의 북쪽 오대호 주변을 잔인하게 평정하여 Town Destroyer라는 별명을 인디안들로부터 얻었었지요. 뭐 여기에는 다른 논쟁거리도 있습니다만. 조금 더 자세한 사항을 알게 되면 그때 알려 드리지요.)--our great and good father, I say, (우리의 위대하고도 선한 지도자이십니다만, 말하자면 – 이 부분에서도 역시 비꼬는 느낌이 계속됩니다.) sends us word that if we do as he desires he will protect us.
